I took the JNCIE DC test recently. I hope I pass….
I have spent six months studying for it. I would say about 500+ hours of studying and doing labs. This would be my second JNCIE.
The test was difficult for sure. You have six hours to do the test in.
You can’t waste your time. You have to have each subject down cold.
The one section of the test I felt the weakest on was COS. I never work on COS on the networks I have worked on my career. This test covered parts of COS I was not strong on. If I don’t get any points in COS, I failed the test…..
I have been waiting two business days for the results. Junipers says it can take up to five business days. I have read on other networker’s blogs that is how long it took them to get their results which means I need to be patient.
What is hard for me in my waiting is that I am ready to move on to planning for another attempt if failed or my next challenge I want to take on.
I think I did well in the test but you never know. These E level networking tests are no joke. That is why few take them and those that take them, few pass on their first attempt.
I like what Juniper has done for the JNCIE since Covid. It works for taking the test remotely. I sat there for one hour before the test started doing nothing. Just staring at myself on my Zoom meeting room. The hour went by fast though surprisingly.
The proctor was very helpful and gave me extra time for a few items. I liked the proctor. He does his job well and having to balance several test takers each day of the week, that is not easy. The proctor has to know all four JNCIE test material backwards and forwards to help the students. This is why the proctor had five JNCIEs!!!
Pass or fail, I did it. I attempted a hard test. I am happy about that. I have enjoyed the journey so far on this E level test.
It has been ten years since I took my last E level test. I took a long break because I lost the drive after getting a CCIE and JNCIE ten years ago. I got these two tests in Routing and Switching.
You never know what life will throw at you so remember now is the Time To Live.
